Was jerked this morning out of my dreams
And loudly screamed: "Defeat!"
That sucker of a clock decided to break
Left me no time to eat
Missed my bus the bike was flat
'trained so of course I couldn't get a cab
And was an hour late for work

Same things every day 
Simply can't get up
Can't wipe that sleep away
Gotta lift those heavy lids
And those cosy covers

If this world fell all to bits
All the same it seems
Simply can't get up
Living in my dreams
Need that crazy feeling I need that dreaming

Every morn' people rushin' through the streets
Like dogs they're in their frenzy
Just can't see myself like those mindless creeps
Thus missing all my chances
Got an OK job last week
Good pay and rather easy work
